(Forever Free and Open Access: In the service of academic excellence by CSiI Open Learning Venture)


This is first journal with some unique features never seen or thought before in the world of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical publishing.

Features:

1. Shall remain open access and free at all times.
2. Will only publish submissions from Indian authors (in and outside India) to promote academic publications related to cardiac surgery by Indians at the world stage.
3. Reviewers and editors shall always be an Indian and based in India.
4. No submission will ever be rejected and will be published with ratings*.
5. Will remain web-based to maintain its open access status.
6. Operative or technique description will always accompany a short video along with description. This will help readers to understand the technique well and be able to reproduce.
7. There will not be any restrictions on the number of articles published in every issue. Issue may have only one publication or 100. 
8. Frequency of published issues will depend on the number of submissions.
9. To support the National Journal -IACTS. Chief editor will work closely with the IACTS Journal's Editorial Board to choose selected articles from the OJCSiI for publication in IJCVTS.
10. There will never be any charge for publication nor there will be any perk or remuneration for any services rendered to the OJCSiI.
11. The only disqualification for any future publication by an author will be proven plagiarism of any kind, which has been brought to our notice by readers or comes to light on its own. It will be unbiasedly investigated and decision will be notified on the website and FB page.
12. All copy rights with regards to all published material shall remain with the author for correspondence.   

* Star rating assessment criteria:

Scale (1-5)  Maximum score: 30
1. Originality of the idea
2. Study subjects were real or unreal
3. Research methodology
4. How the systematic bias has been dealt
5. Quality of statistical analysis (if applicable)
6. Duration and completeness of Followup

Rating (Based on calculated scores): From * (Single star) to ***** (Five stars)

0-5: 1 star
6-11: 2 stars
12-17: 3 stars
18-23: 4 stars
24- or above: 5 stars
